Legacy Giving

Leaving a legacy to OLLIE in your will is a meaningful way to support future generations. Your contribution, regardless of its size, works towards a world where no young person feels isolated with suicide as their only choice.

More about legacy giving:

  • Wills can be intricate, and each legacy gift is special. Start by consulting your financial adviser or connect with us for an informal conversation to explore this impactful opportunity.

  • How can legacy giving reduce inheritance tax?

Legacy gifts are generally completely free of Inheritance Tax and can, in some cases, even reduce inheritance tax for your loved ones. When you leave 10% or more of your assets to charity, if any inheritance tax is due, it will be reduced to a rate of 36%, rather than the standard 40% (correct Feb 2024)

Type’s of gifts to leave:

  • Residuary Gift: This type of gift is a share of your estate. After you have provided for your loved ones, you can leave a share of what remains to charity. This is known as a ‘residuary gift’.

  • Pecuniary Gift: This is when you leave an exact sum of money to us. It’s known as a ‘pecuniary gift’.

  • Specific Gift: A specific gift is a nominated object, for example an artwork, an antique or a piece of jewellery. This is a good way to keep an item in the family.

  • A Gift in Trust: You can leave a gift for someone to use over a period of time. When the time has ended, the gift can be passed on to other recipients, such as a charity.
