In March, our Operations Manager Verity was at The Bushey Academy delivering assemblies to each year group. Following the school choosing OLLIE as the charity, they wanted to fundraise for. Verity talked to them about the different trainings OLLIE delivers and touched on emotional wellbeing. Since then, the pupils have been busy helping raise funds for OLLIE during a fundraising week, when the staff and children worked hard to organise a series of events.
The fundraisers ,which were held at the school throughout the week, included a dodgeball tournament, in which pupils from years 7 and 12 competed for the winning spot, as well as a pay-per-use photobooth, cake and sweet sale, and raffle. There was something for everyone to enjoy with lots of fun to be had. All the activities were organised and coordinated by 6th Form students as part of their Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).
We are delighted with the amount The Bushey Academy managed to raise for us and applauded everyone who was involved in making the week the success it was! We are looking forward to working with Bushey Academy next year by delivering training for free. Whenever a community raises money for OLLIE, we love to reinvest that money right back where it came from.
