Grow and Gather

Join us at the Sandridge Road Allotments in St Albans for Grow and Gather, our community meet-ups. Come rain or shine, Team OLLIE will be there, ready to chat and listen to anyone who wants to join us on the first Saturday of every month from 9.30am to 10.30am.

An OLLIE FOUndation Event

About this event:

Whether you enjoy gardening or just want to chat and soak in the beauty and peace of the space, you’re very welcome. No gardening experience is necessary—our focus is on connecting with each other. Everyone is welcome, whether or not you have green fingers!

Possible activities during the morning may include:

  • coffee and cake, simply an opportunity to connect with others with a warm drink

  • plot maintenance – painting raised beds, potting plants, fixing equipment

  • sowing bulbs / seeds

  • general tidying of the plot & weeding

  • an opportunity to hear about the support that OLLIE can offer the community

The benefits of being outdoors and gardening can be really positive for our health and well-being. It has been shown to reduce stress, improve mood, stimulate brain function and improve cognitive function.

However you wish to enjoy the garden, we would love for you to join us in any capacity that you can. You are welcome to turn up to the garden, however if you can register ahead of time via this page, it helps us monitor numbers ahead of each morning.
