Safe: “suicide alertness for everyone” TALK: “Tell, Ask, Listen, KeepSafe”

Join this session to reflect on the the possible signs or invitations that indicate an individual is at risk of suicide, yet can so often be missed, dismissed or avoided. Through the steps of TALK, delegates develop a better understanding of suicide prevention.

Living Works Suicide Prevention Training

Talk explores:

  • an exploration of the group’s personal encounters with mental health and suicide

  • a video of survivor sharing experience of acute mental health challenges
  • practical role play exercises exploring real life suicide crisis scenarios
  • information about local community resources.

Delegates will:

  • be more able to challenge attitudes that inhibit open talk about suicide

  • recognise the invitations to notice that a person might be having thoughts of suicide

  • gain confidence to engage in a direct and open talk about suicide and move quickly to connect them with someone trained in suicide intervention.
