Suicide First Aid – Understanding Suicide Interventions

This 2 half day course teaches you the theory and practice of suicide intervention skills that can be applied in any professional or personal setting. It’s an internationally recognised, externally moderated and quality assured. Accredited by the City & Guilds of London, with the option to upgrade for QCF Credits.

The OLLIE Foundation Suicide First Aid training

Talk explores:

  • the reasons surrounding suicidal behaviour and the magnitude of the community health problem today

  • the role and value of the carer in managing suicide interventions and how that role can differ for different people

  • the approaches and process of suicide intervention including the desired outcomes of safety

  • the importance of self reflection and personal impact when working with suicide and people at risk.

Delegates will:

  • gain a greater understanding and confidence to intervene with people at risk of suicide

  • grow knowledge to help keep someone ‘safe for now’ and navigate through an emotional crisis.

Who is this for:

  • multi-sector practitioners including health, housing, social care, education, criminal justice, call centre operators, private, voluntary and public sector workers and community members.

  • Duration: 2 half day sessions of 3.5 hours per day- 7 hours in total.
